Glyphosate, Roundup and Monsanto - September 12th, 2022 Episode

Updated: Oct 17

What is glyphosate?

an herbicide. it comes in several forms of salts and an acid

Glyphosate is the world’s most widely used agrochemical.

How does glyphosate work?

Interferes with plant metabolism by blocking an enzyme that makes structural components of the plant like amino acids and vitamin B9 folate

What are some products containing glyphosate?

Currently there are over 750 GBH

How might I be exposed to glyphosate?

Foods and water

Local spraying inhalation and topical

Acute minimal except in large doses - metabolic acidosis

Chronic is the issue:

Mitochondrial dysfunction

Gut microbiome

Infants gut:

Celiac and wheat sensitivity

Changes in microbiome and cancer

Changes in microbiome and obesity

Immune disruption

Chromosomal (DNA) damage

Bees - hives are failing at massive increase rate (double) - beekeepers noted that they are seeing double hive loss in winter. A study from June 2022 Science states “the collective ability to maintain the necessary high brood temperatures is decreased by more than 25% during periods of resource limitation.”

Brain function

GLY negatively affects associative learning processes of foragers, cognitive and sensory abilities of young hive bees and promotes delays in brood development.

Behavior changes

Nematodes: causes seizures

WHO IARC says possibly carcinogenic

The argument against this is they did not identify who is exposed.

CDC recently stated glyphosate in in 80% of Americans’ urine

41 % increase risk of NHL non-hodgkins lymphoma

We documented further support from studies of malignant lymphoma incidence in mice treated with pure glyphosate, as well as potential links between glyphosate / GBH exposure and immunosuppression, endocrine disruption, and genetic alterations that are commonly associated with NHL or lymphomagenesis.

Environmental Paytoplay Agency (EPA) says it is safe based on tainted research

For the EPA review 2 panelists and a major editor had ties to Monsanto, AND they failed to disclose and EPA said no Monsanto employee edited the draft.

Supreme court refuses to hear 2/3 suits that were decided against Bayer/Monsanto

EPA ordered to reexamine glyphosate
